Tibetan Sound Massage

Tibetan sound massage is a one-to-one sound treatment that works on a physical, mental and spiritual level.

During this therapy, different size Tibetan singing bowls are placed directly onto the fully-clothed body and also around the body, sending vibrations through the body and creating a flow of sounds and energy which affect the energy centers (chakras) and induce a feeling of well-being and harmonisation. These vibrations are strategically sent through the body, massaging the cells, and releasing any stored up tension. At the same time, the range of frequencies emitted by the singing bowls has a deeply relaxing and calming effect, drawing the brain into Alpha and Theta state. Whilst in this deep meditative state, the heart rate slows and the body is able to rejuvenate and find peace of mind.

*It is recommended to have at least 4 sessions (a week apart), to have a maximum effect and achieve transformation goal.

    • Drink plenty of water to not only keep you hydrated but also to allow any toxins released by the sound healing to be flushed from the body.
    • Following the sound healing session it’s best to take it easy, rest, relax, go for a walk and avoid stressful situations.
    • If you feel ungrounded at the end of a sound healing session try to eat or drink something.
    • Please do not drive or operate heavy machinery after the treatment if you are feeling ungrounded.
    • When you get home have a bath or a shower as the water will allow the sounds to sink in deeper and last for longer.
    • Avoid red meat, alcohol or any chemical toxins for the next 24 hours.
    • Rest for at least 30 minutes post-session.
    • Avoid media and conversations during this time to stay connected to the healing energy.
    • Experience immediate shifts or subtle changes, with cumulative effects over subsequent sessions.
    • Expect a 24-hour healing cycle, potential fatigue, or emotional release in the reintegration phase.
    • There are no officially recognised side effects of sound healing.

What to expect

Each and every sound massage treatment is tailor-made to suit the needs of the client. 

First, you will be informed about the process of the treatment. The sound massage begins with setting of intentions for the session. You will then be asked to lay down on a mat and Manolis will place Tibetan singing bowls onto and around your body. Throughout the session, you will experience a deep sound massage that will rejuvenate your body. At the end of the session, Manolis will gently guide you back to a feeling of awareness before concluding the therapy. Following a session, you will enjoy a cup of tea and you will be instructed on how to continue your day so that you experience the benefits of the sound therapy at the fullest. The Tibetan sound massage can be either half an hour or 1 hour long.

Sound Bath

A gentle, yet powerful, deeply-immersive, meditative, full-body listening experience.

It is a gentle, yet powerful, deeply-immersive, meditative, full-body listening experience where you are “bathed” in therapeutic sound waves by various healing instruments including the Tibetan singing bowls and crystal bowls, the gong, the drum, the monochord, energy chimes, and voice.
Sound baths and gong baths are ideal and beneficial for both beginning meditators as well as experienced meditators. A sound bath can be a great entry point for non-meditators to enter deep states of consciousness as it doesn’t require a lot of discipline or patience to learn how to do it — all you have to do is relax, be open and listen. Sound baths are held in a group, couples as well as in one-to-one sessions. Manolis holds group sound baths and workshops for different-sized groups. Benefits of a Sound Bath

Recent studies have reported that sound baths can bring deep rest and relaxation, help with stress, fatigue, and depression symptoms. Also, it may help the listeners with grounding, centering and connecting with their inner wisdom. According to the scientific study: Effects of Singing Bowl Sound Meditation on Mood, Tension, and Well-being: An Observational Study, Sound baths may help treat mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety. It was reported that after attending a sound bath participants experienced reduced anger, fatigue, and depressed mood, while there was reported an increased spiritual well-being. Moreover, participants who were not familiar with this type of meditation experienced a significantly greater reduction in tension compared to more knowledgeable participants.

During a sound bath, both the body and the mind relax, entering a deeper state of consciousness, allowing the brain waves to slow down. Alpha and theta brain waves are stimulated, shifting from a more active state to a more relaxed state, or even a dreamlike state. Alpha waves (8-12 Hz) occur when we are calm and relaxed,daydreaming or meditating. Theta waves (4-8 Hz) are produced during light sleep, extreme relaxation or during very deep meditation. During theta state the brain may be particularly receptive. 

Scientists have found that alpha and theta activity is linked to a reduction in stress, anxiety, discomfort and pain, while increasing alpha brain waves can stimulate creativity, help with memory and minimize depression.

What to expect

A sound bath experience is unique and each participant will experience different sensations, emotions depending on how open they are to the experience. During the sound bath Manolis is using a variety of overtone-emitting instruments including the Himalayan Singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, gongs, energy chimes, the native American drum, monochord and more, to create soothing, overlapping vibrations that lead deeper into a state of contemplation or relaxation, switching off your body’s fight-or-flight response. More interesting is the fact that what one experiences in a sound bath can be totally different than what they experience the next time they attend one. 

First, you will be seated and Manolis will welcome you with some basic information on what to expect during the sound bath. Shortly after, you will be guided into a short, gentle, guided meditation to come closer to your inner senses. Then the sound bath begins. At the end of the session, Manolis will guide you back to a feeling of awareness before concluding the sound bath. A sound bath normally lasts around 1 and half hours.

Yin Yoga & Sound Bath Experience

A restorative yoga class in which we will combine the therapeutic benefits of Yin yoga and Sound healing with the crystal singing bowls.

A mild, supportive, passive yoga practice, in which using the help of the props (bolsters, blocks, blankets) you stay in selected asanas for a longer time, with less effort. You will have time to breathe deeply, expand your consciousness and experience relief, feel every part of your body, and relax with the healing vibrations of the crystal bowls.

You will give yourself the time to let go, release tension, calm your mind with the help of magical therapeutic sounds and balance your autonomic nervous system, and last but not least you will allow your body to begin the process of self-healing.

Who is it for?

Both the sound bath and the sound massage are ideal and beneficial for everyone who seeks a way to relax their body and mind. Both non-experienced and experienced meditators can enjoy and benefit from a sound massage or a sound bath.

Who may not be able to attend

There are some people who should be cautious and need to check with Manolis first. Here are some general cautions:

  • People with epilepsy
  • Pregnant women – especially if they’re placed on the body.
  • People suffering from thrombosis or serious vascular diseases, 
  • People with a pacemaker.
  • People who are allergic to certain types of metals should let Manolis know in advance so that he avoids placing a bowl directly on their skin.
